This city of gold is the man-made oasis in the Middle East. A country built entirely on the vision of one person, combined with the endless efforts of all, Late Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan.

The infrastructure has overturned the definition of impossible with the upcoming 1300 metres high Dubai Creek Tower. One must visit Dubai to truly fathom the impossible. Everything is possible here.  Dubai emerged as a whole new space and changed the perspective of being a Middle Eastern country. Today Dubai has become the most desirable tourist destination. People from all over the globe come to Dubai and to the neighbouring Emirates seeking jobs, starting a new life, get world-class higher education and to live amidst the most famous man-made marvels.

  • Currency: Dirham (AED- Arab Emirates Dirham)
  • It is a federation of 7 emirates, viz. Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Al-Fujairah, Ras-al-  Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm-Al-Quwain. Abu Dhabi is the capital of U.A.E.
  • Dialling code: +971
  • Language: Official language is Arabic. Hindi, Malayalam and English are other spoken languages of the majority.
  • Modes of transportation: Air conditioned buses, metro, taxis and Dubai Abra (creek side).
  • Network operator: Not many options are available. You’d have to choose between Etisalat and DU. DU is preferred for a short duration stay and Etisalat if you staying for longer periods. They offer completely different packages.

Best month to Visit dubai:

The best month to visit Dubai is from October to February when the mercury starts to drop. This makes outdoor sightseeing easier. For the outdoors like Dubai Desert Safari, Beeches, local markets of Bur Dubai and Deira, winter is preferable.

Transportation in Dubai:

City Buses- City buses are available from almost all places, which lead to major destinations. Major bus terminals of Dubai are Al-Ghubaiba, Ibn-e-Batuta and Gold-Souq.

Metro- There are two major metro lines. One of them is the Red line which runs from Al-Rashidiya to UAE Exchange (Jebel Ali), while the other one is the Green line which runs from Etisalat to Creek Metro Station. Taxis- While City Bus and metro is the cheapest mode of transportation, taxis are quite costly. The fare starts from 5 AED, and increases with time and distance.

Burj khalifa is situated in Downtown the most beautiful place as one side is Dubai Mall and in-between there is Burj lake: Musical Fountain Show

Musical fountain show starts at 6.30PM daily and runs on every 30min interval. On my first visit the show was on Skyfall theme song which was like boom, the surrounding echo and the Fountain given me Goosebumps.

To get a view Bird’s eye view of Dubai from 148th floor of Burj Khalifa, One has to pay around 250 AED and have to book tickets Online in advance or also one can get ticket from local tourist agencies.

Burj Khalifa is 830 metres high and have 160 floors. Well Visitors are allowed to visit to only 148th floor.

In Bur-Dubai which is majorly populated area of Indians, there is a temple and Gurudwara sharing the same premises in different floors. In the congested streets of Bur-Dubai Near creek side there is a small market and a Hindu temple with Shiva and SaiBaba idols inside. While the temple is situated on the first floor of the premises, Gurudwara is there in the second floor.

Creek Side:

Creek side in Bur-Dubai is a very beautiful place as you can have a nice view of Deira on the other side, small passenger boats coming and going at ports and  dhow-cruise ships passing by and there you are sitting admiring the view with Hot cup of Tea at Mid-Night, you can spent your whole night there no one is going to say a thing to you and that is the best part of Dubai its safe and reliable, people don’t disturb you if are sitting somewhere as long as you are not doing anything illegal.

Well there are accommodations from cheapest to world’s most costly hotels; few of them are just mind blowing with their luxury amenities.

If someone is from India wishing good Indian food, Hotels near Bur-Dubai are the best options as variety of Indian food is available here and you will feel here like you are actually walking on the streets of India as the majority of people lives are from India.
